Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter 7) is more than just the seventh and final installment in J.K. Rowling's epic wizardry series. It is the keystone, the culmination of the 4000 or so previous pages. Rowling brings to Deathly Hallows a fully-realized world, complete with history, mythology, and a vast web of characters intertwined thoroughly with that history, that mythology, and with each other. It is a darker landscape since Voldemort's return to power and Dumbledore's subsequent demise at the wand of Severus Snape; many of Voldemort's followers have been released from Azkaban as have the Dementors, who now serve the Dark Lord's purposes as well. The Ministry of Magic, now controlled by Death Eaters, has instituted a campaign against muggle-borns that smacks of Nazi Germany, and Harry Potter is dubbed "Undesirable Number One," with a 2,000 galleon prize offered for his capture.

scorpia alex rider the 5 th book
the opening pages of SCORPIA, Anthony Horowitz's fifth Alex Rider adventure, readers are introduced to Mrs. Julia Rothman, who is in charge of Scorpia's latest project --- Invisible Sword. Their client, a multibillionaire in the Middle East, believes that the friendship between Great Britain and the United States has made the West too powerful, and he wants Scorpia to terminate this alliance once and for all. In order to accomplish this, Mrs. Rothman reveals that thousands of schoolchildren in London will be killed if the United States can't meet certain demands that Scorpia has laid out. To say that these demands are unreasonable would be a huge understatement. There is no way that any American official would agree to such an arrangement --- and Mrs. Rothman is fully aware of this. Their refusal to cooperate would lead to the mass murder of innocent children, thus destroying the Anglo-American alliance forever

something wicked
Something Wicked This Way Comes is a 1962 novel by Ray Bradbury. It is about two 13-year-old boys, Jim Nightshade and William Hallo way, who have a harrowing experience with a nightmarish traveling carnival that comes to their Midwestern town one October. The carnival's leader is the mysterious "Mr. Dark" who bears a tattoo for each person who, lured by the offer to live out his secret fantasies, has become bound in service to the carnival. Mr. Dark's malevolent presence is countered by that of Will's father, Charles Halloway, who harbors his own secret desire to regain his youth.
The novel combines elements of fantasy and horror, analyzing the conflicting natures of good and evil, and on how they come into play between the characters and the carnival. Unlike many of Bradbury's other works, including the tangentially related Dandelion Wine, which are collections of loosely related short stories, Something Wicked This Way Comes is a full-length novel.

paul jennings the nest
A paul jenning book the nest
I suddenly feel apprehensive as my words turn to smoke and curl up the chimney.
Does my story hold the answer?
A dingo knows without being aware that it knows.
Can a person know something without knowing it?
Robin’s life is spiralling out of control. His father’s a tyrant, his mother’s disappeared and the wrong girl's luring him into her web...
Intolerable images keep flashing through his head. What does Robin really know about his past? Are their clues in his own writing? And what secrets lie within the frozen forest?
Paul Jennings’ first novel for older readers is a stunning and original network of crossing trails which combine to tell the dark, tense and ultimately uplifting story of a boy who dares to stare into the spider holes of his own mind.
